One of my favorite aspects of using a Bullet Journal has been the amazing creative community on Instagram. I’ve made some good friends, and I’m inspired every single day by their creativity. I thought it would be fun to introduce some of them to my readers in an ongoing weekly interview series called Sublime Creatives! Today, I’m excited to feature Kacheri from Passion Themed Life.
I’m Kacheri–a mother, wife, artist, writer, teacher, student, adventurer, and somebody who knows that these are all things that I do and do not define who I am.
I have made, and continue to make, many mistakes and changes in my life, meaning that who I am is constantly being redefined. For now though, I am simply a woman who works hard, enjoys the littlest of moments, and hopes that one day I can be the woman I have always dreamed of being.
Tell me a bit about the history of your business. How did it start? What led you to do what you’re doing?
I started blogging back in 2015 as a way to get out there and experience a different kind of world (online). I would write every single day, and started an Instagram sharing pictures of my planner.
I have always been a lover of stationery–buying school supplies was better than buying new clothes! I found this whole community, no, world of people that were just like me! It went from being something that I never really thought would become much, to being a blog that actually produces an income. Which happens to be one of the coolest things to me, I still cannot believe how far it has come since that first day!
What’s the biggest hurdle you’ve had to overcome in your life/business?
I would say, juggling. Making sure that I don’t forget anything for my blog and still manage to be a good mom, wife, and student without becoming a super stressed crazy lady that forgets her pants in the morning!
Seriously though, I have forgotten so many things–so many times–and even through all of that, I still have a family who loves me and readers who are loyal and supportive. So I say, even though it’s a continuous “hurdle”, I am doing purdy darn good at overcoming it.
What is the best piece of business advice you’ve ever received?
That is a hard one. I would say it’s a tie between ” utilize your social media” and “read self-help books”.
Social media, whether you are an online business, blog or have a physical place of business, social media is the best way, and sometimes only way, to make yourself known, a.k.a make money.
Self-help books are extremely useful tools for well, helping ones self. And by helping yourself to the mass amounts of knowledge that people are sharing about feelings, relationships, money, business, and so much more, you are helping yourself to a new you, in turn also helping your ability to succeed.
Do you have any fun products or projects in the works or coming out soon?
Currently, my family is transitioning into a tiny home, so in the works is a new series on my blog dedicated to our experiences and adventures.
I have also been working on new listings for my shop, ARTofficial happiness, that will be featuring more than just mandalas and bookmarks! There will be art prints, vinyl stickers for bullet journals and some other goodies as well.
What’s the biggest life lesson you’ve learned lately?
That life is wasting time, so waste it in a way that you enjoy instead of at a dead end job or being stressed about stuff.
What are you currently obsessed with?
Oil painting! Oh my goodness, I have never painted before and I decided to take a painting class this semester at my college and it has been the best!
Drawing has always been my “art of choice.” I can get lost in it and forget about everything that “needs” to be done. But sadly, I tend to become a bit of a perfectionist with my drawings, only creating stress. Oil painting for me has helped me let go of perfect and just create!
What is one thing you can’t live without?
My bullet journal. Period, end of story!
Without my planner and the occasional glass of wine I probably would have lost my mind and many other things by now.
What is your favorite quote?
Ai WeiWei ( pronounced “I wayway”) is a controversial modern Chinese artist. He has just made his way onto my radar and I love his work!

Do you have a word of the year? If so, what is it, and give a brief description of why you chose it.
I chose many words this year, at least for the front page in my bullet journal, but if i had to take it down to one, it would be THRIVE, because in my life, family, school, and business that is what I want and need the most.
