Did you know that the average mother only gets 17 minutes of “me time” to herself every day?
I’m sure to frazzled women everywhere, that sounds about right. Those rare moments alone often end up being spent online, perusing Facebook, Pinterest, or another form of social media.
Unfortunately, these activities often contribute to the weariness mothers experience rather than making them feel refreshed and ready to tackle the next task.
There’s no doubt that social media can lead women to feel even more discouraged about their lives than they might already. Scrolling through the highlight reels of your friends and families “perfect” lives can make you wonder why you don’t have it all together when everyone else makes it seem so easy.
If 17 minutes isn’t enough time for you, I shared some thoughts on the MARS Healthy Living Blog about how to ask for more time for yourself, as well as some ways to fill the time that will lift your spirits, calm your mind, and feed your soul. You’ll return to your family recharged and everyone will benefit.
