Creating a Spiritual Action List

This year has been a whirlwind for me. We’ve had some unexpected changes, both good and bad, and it’s been almost more than I can handle.

The only journal I’ve really been keeping up with lately is what I call my heaven journal.

I read in the scriptures every morning as part of my morning routine. I start my scripture study time each morning by writing down a question I have about something in my life. Then I read. It never fails, I receive an answer or insight every time.

As an example, some of my questions from this week’s study:

  • How can I focus on being happy today?
  • How can I be more productive with my time?
  • How can I be patient with my kids?
  • How can I move my business forward without worrying so much?
  • How can I be more confident?

It’s amazing to look back through my journal and see evidence of God’s hand in my life. Often, I get answers that are action items, so I have saved a few pages at the front of my journal for my spiritual to-do list, so those action items don’t get lost in the pages of my journal. Here’s a peek at what my current Spiritual Action List looks like.

Do you use a journal for scripture study?  If so, I’d love to hear about your process and what you include.
