After working with hundreds of women over the last year who have wanted to lose weight, I’ve started to see some patterns. Most of them hate the body they are currently living in and assume that getting a skinnier one will somehow be the magic ingredient to finally make them happy.
The RESULT?
Resentment.
All or nothing thinking.
Self-hatred.
Defeat.
And a nagging feeling that they will never be ENOUGH!
Far too often we use the size of our bodies as the reason we cannot live a life that we love.
We spend every available moment thinking about food. We are either eating, or thinking about eating, or planning what we are going to eat next. We spend far too much money chasing the newest diet hoping that this might finally be THE one!
It’s time to put an end to this madness. It’s time to LIVE a life you LOVE, right now, in the body you currently have.
And the best part?
When you start living a life that you LOVE—the weight-loss you’ve been chasing after will happen.
That might sound strange, but I’ve seen it happen over and over again with many clients I’ve worked with.
I personally started seeing success once I realized that my overachiever personality was actually my inner mean girl trying to run the show. Her only job was to convince me that I’m not enough! Not good enough. Not talented enough. Not disciplined enough. She tried to convince me that I wasn’t worthy of the things I desired and that I didn’t deserve to be happy.
And feeling like ENOUGH . . . . feeling WORTHY?!? It starts with living a life you love, right now.
How to Start Living a Life You Love Right Now? — Self Love!
It’s not uncommon to think of self-love as an emotion or feeling. However, it’s really something you do.
It’s an action. It’s treating yourself well.
Sometimes we may not feel like we love ourselves, but actions that are self loving are easy to implement.
As women, we’re often in the habit of putting the needs of everyone else in our life before our own and our own self care practices can go by the wayside. If you’re always putting the needs of someone else first, you’ll end up feeling exhausted, resentful and empty.
You can’t show up as the best version of you in any area of your life when you’re neglecting yourself.
Your Assignment
I’d like you to make yourself your number one priority this week. If you’re not in the habit of self care, you may not even know where to begin. Here are a few ideas:
- Get enough rest
- Create an exercise habit
- Eat clean
- Do something from your happy list
- Get dressed {Seriously! Maybe even put on some makeup and do your hair.}
- Find a hobby
- Take a break from electronics
- Be present for those you love
- Read an uplifting book
- Watch your favorite movie
These ideas may seem simple, but they are POWERFUL!
When you commit to living a life you love right now—you’re telling the world that you are ENOUGH! Even more important, you’re telling yourself that you are enough—that you deserve to be happy! That’s the secret key. YOUR OPINION is the only one that matters!
When you finally understand that you are beautiful, inside and out, just the way you are, and that you deserve to live a life you love—right now, the weight loss will happen.
