If you’ve been around Sublime Reflection for very long, you know I’m a huge fan of reviewing and reflecting in my bullet journal! I continually adapt my review process to meet my needs, but today I’m sharing with you my latest monthly review, and hope it will give you some ideas if you’d like to do a review of your own.
Don’t miss the printable worksheet at the bottom of this post.
At the end of each month, I take about an hour to review the month and make goals for the new one. I always look forward to it. It’s nice to reflect as time passes on the progress you’re making. It also helps me recalibrate and refocus on goals that may not be going so well.
I find it helps me look at a big-picture overview of how my month went, instead of getting caught up in the day-to-day details. I’d recommend doing this sometime when you’re alone. Really tune in to your thoughts and feelings. Inspiration and intuition often bring powerful new ideas, but it’s usually very subtle. Because of this, as you’re completing your review, don’t filter your thoughts. Pay attention to what comes up. You might be surprised at what you learn about yourself.
I believe that success and fulfillment in life can be found by deliberating CREATING the life you want to have. My monthly review is part of that process. It sets the wheels in motion and keeps me moving toward my goals.
Sections Explained
Most of these sections are self-explanatory. I write down accomplishments from the month, big events, what I’m most proud of, and what was most challenging.
My three favorite sections are all about my inner self. I record how I’m different this month, personal struggles I have, and things I learned that I want to remember.
The Projects section helps me keep all my projects organized by recording what I accomplished this month, what is in-progress, and things I have coming up the next month.
The Start, Stop, and Continue section is a simple way to make necessary adjustments. It’s exactly what it sounds like. Pick one (or a few) things you’d like to start, stop, and continue.
Focus Goals
Each month I pick 3 specific focus goals to work on throughout the month. These are usually a mindset goal, or something ongoing that I want to implement into my life. I also write these on my monthly layout and my weekly layout each week to remind me of my focus. In this section, I included a short note about how I did on each goal this month, and planned my 3 new goals for next month.
90 Day Goals
Every quarter, I make 90 Day Goals. This includes two outcome goals — one business and one personal. In the 90 Day Goals section, I review how I’ve done implementing my 90 day goals as well as any thing I need to consider to improve the next month.
You can read more about my 90 Day Goal Setting Process here.
Top Priority Goals
My Top Priority Goals are the ones I decided on when I went through my Design Your Destiny Goal Setting Workbook with my readers at the end of 2016. They are my top ten goals for the year. I always make sure my top ten goals fall in my top 3 life priorities — Myself, My Family, and making an Impact on others.
