Who remembers having a Caboodles makeup case? I still have a light blue one I got when I was in Junior High. Over the years, it’s held makeup, nail polish, stickers, hair bows when my girls were little, and is now full of markers. I have fond memories of dragging it to sleepovers where we practiced doing each other’s makeup.
My youngest daughter just turned 12 and has started dabbling with makeup. It’s not unusual for me to find my makeup has gone missing when I’m trying to get ready in the morning. To solve this problem, I recently purchased a Caboodles makeup case from Walmart so we’d have one central location where we could store everything. With a house full of girls, it’s been a lifesaver.
I was pleasantly surprised to see that the Caboodles brand is all grown up and just as fashionable as ever. There were so many great options to choose from, but we decided to get this fun Black Diamond Train Case.
I can’t believe how much this thing holds! It has 3 trays on each side that stack, and a big compartment in the bottom as well. My daughter and I had a great time organizing all our makeup, and of course, trying some out!
My middle daughter recently graduated from cosmetology school. As part of her training, she took a makeup artist class and got a full kit of professional makeup. It’s been fun trying out new products, and the Caboodles makeup case is the perfect place to store it all, and makes it easily portable when she needs to take it to a photo shoot. This picture is her at a recent photo shoot. Isn’t she gorgeous?
My Favorite Makeup Tips
Foundation — To pick the perfect foundation color for your complexion, match the inside of your arm, not the back of your hand.
Eyebrows – Tame those beauties with a wax eyebrow pencil, then fill in with a brow powder or pencil.
Eyeshadow — If you want your eyeshadow to last all day and not crease, start with a primer.
Mascara — Move your brush in a zig-zag motion as you apply. It reduces clumps, separates your lashes, and gives a more even application.
Lipstick — To make your lipstick last longer, fill in your entire lip with a neutral lipliner.
Favorite Product — Bronzer! This little wonder has so many uses—blush, contouring, and eyeshadow, and even lip color in a pinch.
Makeup Remover — My favorite makeup remover is homemade. Simply add a spoonful of coconut oil and a squirt of baby shampoo to hot water and gently shake to mix. The coconut oil will condition your lashes and even help them to grow. And baby shampoo is perfect because it’s tear-free.
